Just like rain and tax, getting a delayed flight every now and then is almost inevitable. But you shouldn’t let that discourage you. I mean its way better to have a delayed flight than to get holed up in a faulty plane mid-flight. Still, no one likes getting held up, especially when you have to get to your loved ones or need to make a very important appointment like taking your pet snake to the dentist’s. Getting bored while waiting for the next flight is perfectly normal but there are a few activities you can engage in to while the time away as you wait. Thank Mother Nature for technology as smartphones make a loyal companion in perilous times such as these. Here are 5 things you can do while waiting for the next flight to your destination.

Play a game on your smartphone. Games like Clash of Clans are quite addictive and if you ever get stuck at the airport while your flight is delayed or cancelled, just download the game and start playing. Build your clan and take out your frustration on neighbouring clans by attacking them. Chances are there that you will not be able to stop playing till the next available flight for you is ready.

Watch a movie or catch up on your favourite series. If you are a busy bee, then there is a good chance you hardly have time to sit down and enjoy a good movie or TV series. Be grateful for the delayed flight as you now have a good opportunity to catch up on that specific movie that catches your fancy. Just take out your smartphone and browse Netflix’s endless list of films and series. If there is a vending machine nearby, you can even get a snack bar to munch on while watching your movie.

Make a documentary video of yourself. Here’s one pretty interactive way to catch some fun. Just do a recording of yourself while stranded at the airport. You can even make it a live video shared over YouTube or Facebook then go out of your way to interview other stranded passengers or even the airport staff. Don’t forget to put in your best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice and remember to tag the airline responsible for your clowning around the social media space.

Ask a stranger out on a date. Let’s keep that phone aside for a while and relate with other earthlings. While waiting for the next flight you can chat up with a fellow straggler and ask them out for a drink or a meal at the local area of the airport. Careful not to spend too much time outside lest you miss the next connecting flight to your destination.
Sleep in an Airpod. If all the activities above are too crass for your liking then do what I’d do. Take a nap in an airpod. Though it sounds and looks like a space capsule, it’s not (even though I’d wish it was). Airpods are new, cutting-edge ergonomic units designed in the shape of a capsule which are projected to be installed in airports and other public areas like railways, bus stations, shopping malls and hotels. The airpod is unique because it gives the users a comfortable and exclusive access to sleep or relax without interference in these public areas I mentioned above. Because of the attractive features like WIFI in it, you can even work inside the pods or catch fun while basking in the glory of your privacy. You also get to enjoy fantastic features like sound reduction technology, touch screen monitor, privacy blinds in smart glass, air conditioning unit, anti-stress program and mood lighting. While considering health, relaxation, and functionality in its design, the founders, Grega Mrgole and Mihael Meolic conceptualized this idea following their uncomfortable experiences having flown round the world on several occasions.
