I was taught to work in the fields with my father but now I am proud to be their son because I can live in difficulties and hardships because surviving in difficult conditions has become a habit .

You learned a valuable lesson about hardships and perseverance in overcoming. I am sure it was hard back then but it taught you to be unfazed with whatever life throws at you.
