I built one a while back but instead of cutting the top out I cut the sides and covered it with cheesecloth. Didn't have any problems with the reflections but it was a little dim, although nothing a tripod and a longer exposure couldn't handle. I wonder if layering the baking paper would make it diffuse the light more?
