It's almost curfew season y'all! Towards the end of this month it'll make a year since protests started here in Louisville. Since nothing much has changed in that time I have the sneaking suspicion that

Squirrels that is, not y'all. Damn furry treerats. Near as I can tell, the best thing about them is when they're fried or fixed with dumplings. I was put to work at an early age keeping them out of the

I want off this planet. I don't know who thought it would be a good idea to put the inmates in charge of the asylum but they're having a grand ol' time... I broke out the towel a while back but right now

I prefer to learn by doing, so instead of actually reading up on using a macro beforehand I've just been going out shooting and then trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'll probably cringe at posting

I quit! Not hive, or anything in particular for that matter, I just felt the need to express that sentiment. It's Derby weekend and if that don't put you in a hostile mood, you either don't live in Louisville

Well, another weekend has come and gone. I didn't get half of what I wanted done but it was still a productive and pleasant weekend. I recently got my hands on a macro lens to play with and experiment,

Here in the United States it seems law enforcement can't go a day without killing someone (actually they average about three a day). Between that and the trial that just ended, there's seems to have been

It's official, this whole damn country is a free-fire zone. I was just reading here that in the last month we've had 45 mass shootings (defined as at least four wounded or killed excluding shooters) here

The tulips are starting to fade around here and I'm going to have to find something else to shoot here soon. Luckily, Thunder Over Louisville (an airshow and fireworks extravaganza) is going on this Saturday

"But if you die fearing God and painfully employed, you will not go to heaven, you'll go to Champaign, Illinois" The Old 97s have been keeping me company on this lazy sort of Sunday afternoon,

It is officially my favorite time of the year! The weather is getting warmer, everything is starting to grow, and the flowers are starting to bloom. Yesterday I looked out the window and discovered that

Last weekend I paid a visit to Richmond, Kentucky for my brothers' birthdays (they're ten days apart so we usually just have a single shindig for them) and while I was down there I managed to squeeze in

Yesterday I got my first dose of the (Pfizer) vaccine and so far I haven't grown a tail or felt too bad. My arm is still a bit sore, other than that I had a few hours of achiness and mild fever which were

If these photos seem slightly familiar, there's probably a good reason for that. For my last post I decided to use color photos but as I was editing them I couldn't resist playing with them in black and

Spring is here! The flowers are starting to bloom, the temperature inches higher each day, and the weatherman has begun to threaten us with tornados! In celebration of the end of pothole season we had

I've already did a few posts about this day (March 13th) so I will spare y'all the repetition. I'm a sucker for reflection shots but I wasn't anticipating getting any this day but as the march passed this

I was listening to 'Boycott Me' by Mischief Brew (below) and it set my mind to wandering. It quickly went from Boycott Me to boycotts and from there to 'cancel culture' and before I knew it I had an idea

Cats are great Except when you're trying to concentrate Cats are neat As long as there's no deadline to beat Cat in a sink Now who would think? Cats are judgy Especially when they get pudgy Cats in their

My back has been rather unhappy with me this week (it's still holding a grudge over an old snowboarding accident) so I have been a bit more inert this week than is my norm. I'm going to try and get out

This past Saturday was the one year anniversary of Breonna Taylor's death at the hands of LMPD. To mark the occasion people took to the streets, here in Louisville and in cities across the country to remember
