You can't go home again. It ain't there no more. Gone. Up in flames a long time ago. It's ghost plays hide and seek amongst the trees and poison ivy overtaking it's neglected carcass. You can go back but

Greetings from the hills! Hope this finds you well, or swell, or in hell, or wherever you happen to dwell. Here in the hills we're staying in a tiny house that comes complete with an outhouse, which sounds

It's just about getting to be a holiday weekend hereabouts and that seems as good a reason as any to head for the hills. We're actually going to be getting on down Between the Country or at least the county

Think it's just about time we got a petition going to change the name of this city from Louisville to Liquor World. Would be much more accurate, and more importantly, who cares about a king that lost his

There's a dream around these parts, one everyone's heard of and nobody's seen. You hear about it most when it gets close to voting time but supposedly the American Dream is more than just a politician's

Can you hear it? That conversation stopping shriek? They situated Louisville's main airport so that if you don't live in the suburbs or the rich part of town you live along the approach path to the airport.

The state of Kentucky is like a giant family. Dysfunctional as all hell, armed to the teeth, and a little too fond of their bourbon but a family nonetheless. Each year in August, when the sun is the hottest,

Louisville isn't so much one town as it is multiple coinciding ones. There's the Louisville that the locals know and then there's the Louisville that the tourists know. There's also the forgotten Louisville

Happy belated International Workers' Day y'all, hope yours was a riot! Come to think of it, the reason Americans celebrate Labor Day in September is because they were afraid it would be a riot if it happened

Currently the local media is fixated on the upcoming Kentucky Derby, the national news is alternating between the dotard trial and university protests, and my diet of foreign media is pretty much war,

People are curious critters, you never know what they're going to do. With street photography there's usually not much chance of a do-over, so you just have to shoot first and try to figure out what's

Was always taught that the title was an old Chinese curse. Everything I've been able to find says the Chinese likely didn't coin the phrase, but whatever its origins it's definitely seems fitting for the

Americans aren't able to agree on much these days, but there is one thing that can cross partisan divides. That's criminalizing the poor, in particular the poorest of the poor, those living on the streets,

Saturday was Thunder Over Louisville but we decided to skip the crowds and head to Portland. The Louisville neighborhood known as Portland that is. The Portland Museum was putting on CeLOUbrate Print and

If you were attacked, what would you do? Fight back? Call the police? What if the police deliberately ignore or even participate in the violence against you? For African-Americans in the Jim Crow South
