Hello everyone, it's been three months on steemit and I have discovered some ideas I believe it is worth sharing. A daily interaction on the steemit site always shows you more. Steemit entails more and I guess there are more to discover.
Understand the need to promote a friendly community
Connecting with people really helps on steemit, the feeling that you are alone is cleared. But for people whose support kept me going I wouldn’t have stayed this long. One of the greatest advantage Facebook has is its ability to connect people. I also see the same idea applied on steemit but until its users makes it achievable, that effort will not be realised. I guess through these ways it is easy establishing a good friendship:
Engaging in chat
Apart from what we post here I think it is proper we find time to chat with others and share ideas to help us and build up steemit community. It feels lonely here when you are the only one doing your own thing. Not only should we post and leave for people to vote, we should help the site by connecting more.
Reading and giving comments helps
Not only have I made friends through reading post but also giving comments. You don't just read a post and leave. It is helpful when you give your comments and a good one too. It is even easy linking up with both the ''whales'' and the ''minnows'' alike by just a good comment you give on a post. Comments make authors realise you have read and appreciate their work, hopefully they will eventually do same for you too.
Share or resteem others work
This I never discovered early on. Sharing or resteeming others work is a curation effort and steemit rewards you for that. Indirectly you receive rewards by curation. Upvoting and resteeming others work makes it visible for other readers who also vote and steemit rewards as they receive more upvotes.
Have a broader perspective about Steemit
So if you are to promote Steemit to others what would you say? Would you say it's all about making money?
I have discovered lately how even my writing skills have improved just by being on this site. This I see as a great advantage for me. A reflection on some of my post inspires me for more greater works in the future to come. I believe having a broader perspective about steemit is what makes it more beneficial to you.
Not just a money-making center
I will describe my first post as a booster. It received 114 votes earning about $111.98 when I first introduced my self on Steemit ''Introducing Myself'' and thanks to:

Special thanks to all my wonderful followers who supported in divers ways.
I thought it was always favourably and that was how the system works here all the time. I nearly got discouraged when my next post earned me few cents. I don't think money is the only issue here and the more reason people should be encouraged to join.
Gaining audience for your work really matter
The monetary aspect shouldn't be the only incentive to entice you to just post and post but also the kind of audience who appreciate what you love to do on Steemit. One of the things helping the big guys here is the kind of audience who appreciate the things they love to do and doing it so well.
Ensuring that you are learning from everyday experiences you encounter here helps you more. The experiences we share here and do it so well is what give us audience who intends promote our work. By gaining audience to appreciate your work there are sites I found very useful.
The Steemit Discord App helps a lot when you submit your post to their channel and also to the postpromote section which allows others too to read your work. I have tried it before.
For those in Africa it is important you join Africaunite on steemit chat to gain audience for your work.
Besides these helpful sites, it is important to stick to doing what you love and doing it well. Every good work will eventually attract people.
Ensuring that quality work is produced and delivered on steemit counts
Things were so hard for me starting as a newbie because of unfamiliarities and other confounding issues. I had a little struggle making my first post. No matter how good you are, you sometimes need help. I remember doing some research on how to make quality post until I came across a great article written by @onequality ''Three Simple Tricks To Make Your Quality Post Readable And Attractive'' on how to make a quality post. It really helped to enhanced my post.
Before making my first post I hardly know anything about markdowns and I had to learn it quickly because how you arrange your post helps your readers to for easy reading and if they can enjoy reading your post they will always come around. I first learnt Markdowns at Markdowntutorials is a great site which gives a simple and easy tutorials.
Not everyone would see Steemit user-friendly unlike Facebook which does not need much of its users; I see Steemit to entail a lot than other media sites I have visited. How to post photo, post video and photo in Mp4 and GIF format , how to site the source of image or a link, using the editing tool for your work are all burdensome especially to people who lack adequate knowledge on IT. Besides, how to gain more votes for a post is also another issue.
I came across articles that have been very helpful to me, you may check them out:
@dragonslayer109 ''The "How To" of Steemit Posting (Good Quality)''
Checking the works of these great guys and also reading their previous post, you realise that their good and quality contents have been as a result of their persistency and their will to keep doing what they love
Belonging to a community helps
Two heads they say are better than one since wisdom is not found only in one head. Being part of a community is not only for votes but also for helps. I had the privilege of joining a wonderful community based in Ghana pioneered by:
@tj4real,
@richforever,
@mcsamm,
@anaman,
@kwkakumax,
@othniel
We share, chat and help each other to make sure quality post is produced all with the aim of promoting Steemit. Our wonderful curators of the steemit Ghana always do proofreading of all our articles and prompt the authors to do any necessary adjustment and rectifications.
Members in our great community here in Ghana are doing amazing works than before due to the wonderful support and a good reception from the curators.
Africaunite has also been wonderful. A great united group championed by @dragonslayer109 has been helpful to Africans on steemit.chat. I had the opportunity to chat with him on steemit.chat, he took a painstakingly effort to help me understand anything I needed to know about the steemit community. His relentless effort to help the site has contributed to many of my African friends joining Africaunite. I think is a good initiative we must all support to help steemit and ourselves.
Sharing is good and will be glad to hear from you too, comments are welcome, thanks
