This post is not a complaint. It is a serious question about the way Steemit pays out. I was very excited last week when one of my posts hit what appeared to be $140. I have watched it erode all week to $103, which is a substantial decline in value.

It just paid out 37 Steem and about 30 Steem Power. That works out at the current price to less than 90 dollars. But the post is indicating a payout of 103 and change. Why the discrepancy?

It is confusing to have post value in dollars and the payout in Steem. Particularly with nothing showing the conversion being used at the time of payout or explanation for discrepancies in the amount. I am certain there is a reasonable explanation. But it would make more sense if the payouts were easier to read so that it doesn't appear we are being shortchanged.

If you have some insight, feel free to share. And thank you to minnowsupport for getting this payout up that high. And thanks to my followers and upvoters. Forty bucks is a heck of a lot less than 140, but it is an awesome payout anyway.

Thanks. I look forward to your comments.
