One thing which I've learnt from not gaming a lot is that I certainly have more time. Sometimes it's more time to do more useless stuff but it technically has more social implications when I go out. Why? You end up talking to friends all of the time and therefore have little to talk about after some time.
I started to do some more programming but just randomly start trying to get things done. It's a lot harder than I thought but at least I got my mind working and got things working, in some capacity. I know there are better ways to get some of the end results I want done but that's going to take a lot more time when it comes to all things practising. Time and effort but it'll pay off!
Moving on, I thought of something that I'd love @heimindanger and
@dtube add to their site. I have a problem with some of the alternative media sites and I'll explain why. It's not because they are doing alternative media. This platform is PERFECT for it. You can't be censored and we gain from alternative thinking. The problem is the TITLE's and sometimes even the content. Such things like
This is where this type of content loses it's reach and crediability. It's marketed like infomercials. They tell you something which you absolutely need to know in some highly marketed bullshit way when really it's a questionable thing/device.
A lot of these alternative media shows, are creating grand titles to bring people in. It's almost like how the Youtube Content creators use all caps like: YOU WON'T BELIEVE HOW I GOT THIS 360 NOSCOPE. They know with titles which are made differently and are polarizing, that people are going to come. The problem with that type of content also is that it's usually also a load of shit. The capitalization is just there to bring people in, that's all. It's essentially clickbait.
I have to believe that if you are trying to bring people in because you believe that your information is that important and you have to make such grand titles which most of the time, is outlanish claims, it just makes these shows even worse. It always feels like they believe they know EXACTLY what's going on and I'm not to claim they don't but the biggest issue is, a lot of people like the right or left wing, will only get their media from one source. These shows are also never contested. This is where I'd like video responses to come.
Youtube did have video responses but they implemended the idea terribly. Steem actually has a great design to allow this to work. You aren't going to upvote ridicolous responses. How to do this I'm not 100% sure but that's not the point. The point is to have someone else or another show, contesting the show's facts. To make sure that it's possible to see both views and have great discussion.
I absolutely hate it when alternative media, try to act like they know everything because they feel another way and instead, let those people start proving facts when hard hitting questions and critique come their way. What I want to see alternative media, back claims and solidifying their claims when the heat comes.
Yes. If you're going to make definitive titles and thumbnails for content to bring people in and have people listen to what is an alternative way of thinking, you're going to have to back those facts up when equally clever people start to question you. Those who can back their claims, will flourish whilst others who can't, will stumble and fall.
Alternative media is a really good thing for D.tube. It brings new people in and people who want to hear different things which traditionally you couldn't hear anywhere else. It's why Youtube is starting to oust them. There are certainly great alternative media outlets which do what I want them to do. To give the people good information which is substantial and can be backed up well. Not looking to bring people in by titled claims which hold little to nothing. Also to not follow trends which generally are geared to petty content.
Video responses weeds out those that can't answer the strong questions which is good for the platform. It makes D.tube look like a joke when so many people want to watch content which can't back itself. It allows people to know who actually is watching out for the community and also those who as I said again, are the real deal. It's a win win.
If D.tube is going to succeed, it's going to be via by doing more and more things which Youtube doesn't do. If D.tube wants to compete with the world, it's not going to be because you can make money on D.tube. You can with Youtube also. It's going to be because it's just a better platform and this is one way to make it better.
