Lately people have been asking me if they should buy XRP, the coin brought to market by Ripple. You can read about what Ripple is, and how XRP is the vehicle of transfer here:

This is not a technical story about why Ripple has the best technology, or how banks are currently using Ripple/XRP.
This is a mathematical review of potential.
Of the 854 cryptocurrencies, CoinMarketCap.com has XRP listed as the 4th largest market cap at about $6 Billion USD:

I was recently contacted by an investor who is putting 1% of his net worth into crypto and wanted to know my thought on XRP, his exact words were, "It's only .15c" And he's correct, it is. His feeling was if he put $500 into XRP, he would get 3300 coins/tokens. From that point if it hit $4000 like Bitcoin, he would have millions of dollars.
The problem is, there are 38,343,841,883 ripple coins/tokens. If it ever hit $4000, the market cap would be....get ready..................................:
$153,375,367,532,000
That's $153 Trillion, if you don't want to count commas!
Even at $2.00 per XRP, the market cap would be about $75 Billion, which would put it at the top slot on CoinMarketCap.com
In addition, banks that do use XRP are currently using it for transfer cost savings. In order to add value, the general public would have to adapt and start using it daily.
Of course, when you are talking about big banks you can't discount anything.
