Never been much of a cook myself. Luckily I married a good lady who can. Much like you, my metabolism and a good workout routine did me well for many years. Then there was no metabolism and stopped working out. Mostly due to health challenges. Didn't stop eating though. Now here we are a few years later. Eating sensibly again. Mostly because the wife changed her cooking habits. So I have to eat what she cooks. All healthy stuff for the most part. Now we get to the exercise. That is where we struggle. Walk occasionally, but not near as much as should. Like you said, lack of consistency. KNow I would lose weight lot quicker if I was more consistent about my exercise. Even Tai Chi fell to the way side. Got to pick it back up.
