I mean, this is honestly the most effective strategy of containing outbreaks. Tell people to stay home for a few weeks, or limit how long they can be out for. The most horrifying thing that can happen is if one infected person decides to participate in any form of social gathering (like what happened in Korea).

China's new infection rate outside of Hubei has dropped to single digits per day in the last week. I think yesterday was the lowest, at just 3 (although they are still reporting around 300-500 per day in Hubei). However, once they contain the virus outside of Hubei, they can divert resources into Hubei.
