The Weekly Standard, conservative outlet that criticized Trump, to shut down. The magazine’s final issue, which was completed Thursday, will publish on Dec. 17. This is especially bad news for anyone that cares about fact checking. Holmes Lybrand is an excellent fact checker, and wrote many accurate articles for the conservative magazine. The Weekly Standard was the only conservative fact checker that Facebook used to check claims made on their platform. With the exit of The Weekly Standard from the fact checking world, fact checking just became less reliable.
