Ever try to go shopping at Target for one item and you end up with a carload? Shopping at Target is difficult for many people, as they will buy lots of unintended items. "The Target Effect" has been been used recently to describe this phenomenon, with many memes and posts on social media about the difficulty in buying just one thing at Target. I discuss reasons why Target is the beneficiary of this shopping habit by their store design, value pricing, and clean and well lit stores.
