So far, we have looked at prayer and noticed it has a lot to do with baptism. We saw that prayer is much more than just communication, but reflection, and self-examination and a humbling experience.
In this post, will look at what happens when a righteous man prays, and when an unrighteous man prays. Prayers from the Old Testament that changed lives, and the outcome of wars. Prayers that are heard, and others that are ignored.

In the picture above, we see the scripture James 5:16. This is a very well known saying and one that many of my prayer warrior friends use to show that prayer works. I agree that prayer is a wonderful, and mandatory, practice that all believers should follow. But the issue is with two words that most believers SKIM over..."righteous man".

The word "righteous" comes from the word "tsaddiq" which means blameless, or the one who is in the right. This brings us back to the self examination we saw in another post. Our savior was blameless, and still he was killed because lying witnesses said he was a traitor and a law breaker.

If a man/woman is blameless, then their prayers carry a lot of weight. They have worked on THEMSELVES before trying to work on someone else who is "ill". The formula for a righteous life is to do A LOT of self examination. Ending things in your life that will keep you held back from doing the will of the Almighty properly.

Many bible passages speak of prayer, and searching the heart of man. There is the prayer of Jabez, the prayer of Hannah, the prayer of Joshua, the prayer of Jepath, the prayer of Solomon, the many prayers of David, and the prayers of so many others.

These people were flawed but knew that if they humbled themselves, their prayers would be answered. Most of them were innocent, and were abused. They had faith that they would be saved out of their affliction, and they were. Being saved out of affliction is not always being saved alive. Most of the prophets were tortured and were saved by death. They knew that they had a better blessing.

This has been my 4 part series on prayer.
