I use Groww Stock Broker which is a discount broker and have quite a good functionality. But it lacks some of the features which is good to have. Like if you have a stock portfolio, you want to see how much you have invested in which sector, how much you have diversified and what not.
So I have created a Google sheet which actually tracks your portfolio mainly currently invested stocks. I don't track if you have taken the profit or sold the stocks, only for the currently invested is available. So there is some manual work which we have to do like which stocks invested on what date and on what quantity. And once you sell those stocks, you have to remove it from the list.
So the stock portfolio tracker will give you an idea about the stocks you are currently invested in, how much is the change between the invested and current value. Along with that the important part is that how much your portfolio is invested based on market cap. If your portfolio is Small cap heavy or Large Cap heavy. And based on that data you can change the portfolio.
Next is how much your portfolio is diversified, like how much you have invested in which sector. If you have been heavily invested in one sector then yhe portfolio is not diversified, if you have diversified enough or not. And next which stocks is in red and which stocks is in green in your portfolio. And how much is the total profit and losses.
Now these charts were missing in the Groww brokers as well as in other brokers too. So having it handy actually makes sense which gives you an overview of your portfolio. You can take a quick glance to your portfolio and get an idea how good your portfolio is doing or any changes required.
