If you ask every other people who are working in their 9 to 5 job, everyone wants to quit it. No one wants to stick to a job but they have to stick because it pays you to pay the bill. And that's why the FIRE movement has Gaines popularity. FIRE is nothing but attaining financial independence so that you can quit the job and do whetever you want to do in life.

But the problem is, very few able to quit the job and do what they want to do in life. This is because of commitments. The problem is our expenses are growing by each passing month and the income is constant and that is making it harder to save more. And if you cannot save, then you cannot be financially free. The people who are actually started earning very good from the starting or if they have been lucky because of some investment then it is different story.
But with inflation eating up your savings, it's quite hard to save more now. I never crossed 50% savings rate, though I have reached 30 to 40%. But still 30 to 40% will not have any effect in financially freedom because when I started, my salary was not huge. And that's why I have not started early. But still I might not be able to quit the rat race but can have a good retirement portfolio.
And that's why I said, everyone wants to quit the 9 to 5 but because of expenses, they cannot. And in the mean time they take more loans for home and car and then whole life spend their salary to clear the loans. I have seen people who actually go to developed nations are more prone to save more initially and then when they came back to their home country their expenses reduces and their investments can take card of that expenses.
