Whenever I open any website to read about any news, 2-3 articles are of big person's portfolios and how good they are in investing. Yes, that is true they might be great because they have learned the art of investing and thus increased their portfolio by that. We cannot be that great just by copying their portfolio so it doesn't matter to us what they are doing with their portfolio. Yes, we can learn the art of investing with them but fully relying on their portfolio to create our own portfolio is not that great.

They are the legendary investors who with their unique investment strategies, they have acquired the skills as well as have to spend years on trial and error to actually create that kind of portfolio that we are seeing now. Now if the retail investors want to be like them they just cannot copy the portfolio, they have to work hard to achieve that level of skills and commitment.
Also when we try to copy others we are actually limiting the talents we are possessing, might be we can become more successful than those legendary traders but because we try to copy them we are not getting successful. We all have that brain and we just have to put it to work.
Every one of us makes fancies that we will make money from the stock market. And now everyone thinks making money is easy and portfolio cloning is made famous by social media influencers by giving the tips to their viewers. There might be a 2-5% probability that you can beat the stock market by portfolio claiming but who knows is it true or not. Copying others is fine but the problem is these legendary investors have the tools to research and they can get out or in very easily from a particular stock but when we get that news it's too late for us.
The problem is the financial goals are not met just by copying, my financial goals can be different from others and if I copy I am just ignoring my goals of mine. And the lack of financial resources, financial goals and risk appetites actually makes it worse to copy. For them, if the stock is down by 5-10% doesn't matter but for some, it matters.
Looking through the portfolios of big investors is fine to get help but blindly copying them is not that great. Investing is entirely subjective and thus every individual should invest as per his risk appetite, financial profile and goals before blindly copying.
