I am running a lot of strategies on the stock market or on the cryptos and thus wanted to know how my strategies are performing. When checked in Groww or Zerodha or any demat account it is not showing the XIRR accurately if I am doing continous buy and sell or if I am getting the IPO.
So that's why I have created a Google Sheets where after adding the buy and sell data along with the max amount invested. We can get the XIRR of the startegy. We actually check the XIRR because then we can check our startegy and see how it performing with the Nifty Index so that we will know if the strategy is good or bad.
XIRR because it can generate the annual returns based on varying intervals as well as irregular cash flows. And when we buy and sell, we actually happen to invest in market with different amount. Like at one point of time the max invested would be $1000 whereas at one point it might be $2000. So that's why XIRR is the correct way to measure the returns.
So, I have created my own Google sheet where I can input the buy and sell and can calculate the XIRR. For me I wanted to know what is the XIRR after reducing the brokerage and short term capital tax and that's why I have the provision of adding the brokerage plus tax too in the google sheet. With google finance in google Sheets it is becoming more and more easy way to find the trend in yhe market, or to find the XIRR, the startegy and what not.
