I finally have a Sunday to rest from all the stress of the week and be able to catch up on all the games that I have on the list and that I haven't played yet, recently I decided to play the indie classic Hotline Miami again but for some reason it's first between had some corrupt files, so I decided to play the second installment, which emphasizes much more everything that the first has.
I have always seen this saga of games in the multiple lists of independent games that you should play, I don't particularly like how the entire gameplay is oriented but the freneticism and gore that this title transmits with only a couple of pixels, in Combined with a mysterious story, I think it's enough of an excuse to pass it on.
A common level of this game is one where we arrive at a building, usually from the street and we have to fight our way through a group of thugs either with fists or having a weapon in our pocket, also having the chance to grab the Gun those we kill along the way, so it becomes a dance to kill everyone on the floor before they kill you, and this becomes particularly difficult because with a single shot or blow we die.
Although there is no game over screen or anything like that, in fact we only respawn at the beginning of the level and as quickly as we die we can try again knowing a little more about the location of the thugs and the structure of the level, so we can try using different methods until completed, here there is also a point system that is based on the brutality with which we commit these crimes and the speed with which we wipe out everyone.
Kill multiple people in the fastest and most brutal way possible, that would be the most accurate description of this game, we will also have some modifiers that we can use from the beginning, the iconic masks that have different effects on our killing, I still don't understand it at all but they also have an effect on the story that I will surely be reviewing in these posts.
Some thugs are in the rooms with knives, others with Uzis and others with shotguns, the key is who to attack first and also in watching the distance, firearms can kill us from the other side of the room while combat weapons melee they have to get close to be able to hurt us, the balance between which we decide to use will also have an effect on whether or not we can survive.
Moving on to the story, I still don't understand absolutely anything, let's hope that not having played the first installment and jumping to this one doesn't have an effect on understanding a little what happens, although I did understand that the history of these two games is something separate between Yes and at the same time quite non-linear so I don't worry, is it fun? Yes it is, also a little stressful when you can't go through a level, even so I recommend it for those who want something new.
