Today I'm here with some fun the little man and I had with a LEGO volcano!
LEGO Volcano
If there's one thing that kids enjoy is some kind of chemical reaction! Homemade volcanos with baking soda and vinegar are one of the easiest pieces of entertainment that we can have around I think lol. Both super cheap and easy to get!
We combined this affinity for chemical reactions with a bit of LEGO fun and we had a recipe for some fun in the sun that's for sure.
I was looking for something to do with the little man to keep him entertained and also use some of the things that he recently learned. He loves building LEGO as most kids do his age and he also last year learned a little bit about the chemical reactions that happen when you mix some things. This turned out to be a fun and cool idea to undergo.
He had some fun with building up the volcano and developed a bit of a knack once I showed him how you should build it up later by layer moving inward a little bit each time. Once he got to the end he thought it was incredibly cool that it looked like a real volcano, so score some points there lol
We were playing around decorating it with little things that we've found around us like this bit of Sumac here and added it to the volcano to see if it would do much to it. The lava didn't move it much but that was fine, was cool to have something other than a leaf involved lol
We also employed some nice food coloring into the mix! Green lava would be pretty wild to see but it was a solid choice. It could be a volcano filled with avocados or kiwis or something! Who knows what goes through their little minds for that hahah
There was a scientist that was trying to study the volcano here but he got a little too close before the eruption and BAM he got fried. His buddy in the rover craft over on his left had sadly watched his colleague get smoked. Promotion may be in order for that guy!
The little man certainly had some fun with this one and we might try to expand this a little bit in the coming weeks!
