Hi fellow Lions,
Today I wanted to chat a little bit about the silliness of bickering in an unproductive way.
This post here was inspired by an exchange I witnessed the other day between two people @edicted and
@chekohler I would consider friends here on Hive and Leo, and whos thoughts, opinions and ideas I respect for various different reasons for the both of them.
The reason I wanted to put this together is that I think we shouldn't fight and create dichotomies and the tribal mentalities when it comes to some things. When it comes to certain topics that's admissible but I think with crypto I don't know if it's productive to do that or if it's more detrimental. There are definitely some benefits to competing between people, competition is great! That's what drives innovation, creates new ideas and brings us forward as a species and a society. What I don't know if it's productive though, is to get into pissing contests when we are in such a divisive time in the history of humans.
I don't think it's helpful to split ourselves into things such as bitcoin maximalist camps or anti bitcoin, anti ethereum and anti other things (unless it's CBDC, we need to resist the fuck out of that shit in my opinion!). We can support and promote certain things like a coin we favor but I don't know if it's productive to bash and shit on each other for these types of things. I have seen it a few times here on hive but where you can see it all the time is on a space like Twatter.
Twatter is certainly a bit of a different situation, as we can't really be sure that what we are seeing or interacting with is legitimate people or bots meant to incite arguments. We know how easy it is to manipulate people by creating the dichotomies of "liberal", "conservative", "democrat", "republican" type stuff. It's these separations that are the cause of many of the issues in our society today and they were heavily studied and proven to be incredibly effective by the Russians during the cold war. I think it's important to agree to disagree with something and move on rather than get into crazy wars of words and all that.
We are all stuck in the tiny Galley style kitchen trying to fend for ourselves while also cramped in with the person next to us while the officers and captains of the world are out there feasting on the spoils of the division we have amongst ourselves.
Maybe I'm reading too much into the little verbal spat that occurred but I figured I had a few thoughts about the division agenda and how we can do well to see if we can talk about things but if we can't then just let bygones be bygones.
