Getting HBD Converted

HBD is definitely one of the interesting topics of late around here, because of the various amounts of attention that is being paid to it and the interest rate it currently has.

There is also quite a bit of controversy with people thinking that either 1) HBD is the best thing in the world and you need to dump all of your funds into it or 2) it's way too hyped and is going to fall apart. I don't know where I necessarily fall on that scale, something in between I guess. One of the things for sure though, is that I am also not incapable of making the stuff work for me in the long run! So I did what I wanted to do and started to turn that into a more long term benefit for me: Hive Power!

I was a little bit premature with this conversion lol but I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to potentially catch a dip in the price. With a HBD conversion, it will take the average (I think?) of 3.5 days of the price of Hive and then base the final price of the Hive token versus the HBD that you are converting and give you a fair price for it. I think that with the current prices of Hive under .30$, there is absolutely a lot of room to benefit from doing a bulk conversion from HBD to Hive so that we can power it up into Hive Power!

I know there are some people who are powering down their hive to then sink it into HBD, thinking that it's a good thing to do. I personally think the future of the blockchain here is with Hive, because of the utility of the token right now on various levels from gaming, to buying assets on the layer 2 such as Leo or CTP etc. With HBD, we don't have a significant market for it yet and I know that there are things trying to get traction such as games using it for their sink. I think there was a bit more hype on the game front such as Ragnarok and things have yet to be delivered on that end. I am not trying to be too negative about it though, because I know at the end of the day, HBD is a great asset to hold overall. If Hive was sitting at .45$ I don't think I would have taken most of my HBD out of savings and instead would have kept growing it.

With Hive nearing .25$ though, you are really in for a deal when it comes to HBD! I could potentially turn this 422 HBD into 2k Hive if things went down to .25 tomorrow. That would be wild! I know that's likely not going to happen but I think I should get around 1300 or 1400 Hive if things stay at the price it is right now, me writing the post.

This is all granted that I am writing this post a few days ahead of when it is actually going to be published. By the time this has committed to the blockchain, I will have already completed the conversion and sitting on the other side of a nice bit of Hive, waiting to be powered up for #HPUD in sadly a few short days. Where the hell has the time gone, it's already the middle of June and staring down the barrel of the end of June! :|

I have a bit more HBD that's waiting to be converted, so depending on what the price action of Hive does over the next week or two I'll be kicking off that conversion as well. That number is a bit lower than this one here but still will be a respectable amount of HBD to turn into Hive! What I'll be doing with that added power up has yet to be determined, I'm thinking of delegating it to Leo so that I can get back to growing my Leo stake and as well participate in the delegation of HP to get bought-back Leo via the Ad Revenue that's been really booming.

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the various minor tweaks and adjustments that I've been making to my account so that I can get up to the levels of Hive Power that I've been aiming towards. I know the financial aspect of it all isn't as important as the engagement and interaction with folks in the community, but we can't lie to ourselves to say that it's not an important factor for why we are here. It's a good idea to improve and build what we can in the downtrend of the market here so that when things turn around, we can really take advantage of it. Having a few thousand more Hive Power staked to my account will do some considerable benefit for me in the long run, as well as all of the people on here that I support on a daily basis!
