Hi fellow Hiveians,
Today I wanted to share some awesome pictures of the beautiful trees as they blossom!
The springtime is an interesting time where we live, in that as things are waking up and coming out of their winter slumber, you can see the various plants that are going through this in stages. Some of the early ones are out right now and it makes for some beautiful and nicely scented walks!
I'm still trying to get familiar with some of the various trees as I'm walking to both learn them myself but to also teach my son the information on the things around us. One thing that's a little hard is to figure out what's a local plant versus what was brought in from elsewhere. This tree here looks beautiful in bloom but I've seen it in several other places, although I'm not entirely sure if it's a local one or brought in from elsewhere in the world. At any rate though, it does a pretty good job of staying alive and offering up some blooms!
Looking up the trees and plants that are blooming, though not really specific to where I'm at, it may be a dogwood tree but it's hard to say for sure as I'm not that good at naming these things lol source it appears like it though!
This next one, is more of a bush or shrub or something but it does produce these beautiful and large pink flowers! I have seen them over the past few years and really enjoy the giant flowers they produce, although the sad part is that they don't really give off an aroma! The pollinators enjoy them though, on warmer days we can see them hopping by them and enjoying a little tasty treat!
This one is certainly not a tree but this lady has her yard really nicely done! It's got all kinds of these bell flowers everywhere and I couldn't help but take a photo or two of them :D. I've mentioned to her when I see her poking around in the garden that she's got a nice bit of flowers, so it's nice to let her know that people appreciate them as they're walking by. She's got the one random tulip hanging out there hahaha but I think that may be more of a product of cross contamination than anything. It's all alone!
Certainly my favorite tree of them all though, the beautiful magnolia! I don't know exactly which flavor of magnolia tree this one is but it gives off the strongest flowery scent in the early spring and it's definitely my absolute favorite. It's also got these gigantic, beautiful white flowers that invite you over to have a smell and give it a look. I am a little sad this year, we've had a bit more rain and colder weather than we did last year which is okay however the magnolia tree didn't keep it's flowers as long as it did in the past! I'm lucky that I got this picture here, as I drove past it today and most of the flower petals are on the ground now sadly. Lame! Lol
The mid-spring season trees have a lot more to show for themselves though than the early ones. One thing I enjoy about the late bloomers that are coming up in a week or two is that they have a way stronger flowery smell! I love the smell of the flowers on the trees, I could sit underneath the tree and work all day, taking in the aroma lol. Certainly one of my favorite things to do in the spring! I know poor Jay is not as thrilled, given his allergies hahaha but the flowers and trees do look good at least!
