Recently I had spent time doing some extra work. We all need some side hustles!
Fruits of Labor
One of the best ways to spend a weekend in the wintertime, when I can, is to do some extra work. I don't want to be working extra in the summertime so I try and do it as often as I can in the winter! Having the extra funds helps, especially in the 'Rona times when that can be hard to find.
There's always, I think, an interesting quality to Boston in the early hours of the morning. It's cooler with snow but this was prior to the dump we got!
Sitting near the docks, waiting for the sunrise was a really nice way to spend some time before work started. Even caught some police boats, just patrolling around but had their lights on cause it's cool I guess, and some nice planes flying into Logan.
The dry dock is one of my favorite parts of this part of the city. It's always cool to see the different ships that come into port and get fixed up!
By the color of the ship, I'm not entirely sure but it certainly seems like some kind of Navy vessel. I know that there are routinely hospital ships that come into port to get fixed up or resupplied, not sure which, but they end up in the dry dock here.
I think one of my favorite components of the area down here is the industrial feel to it. The way these are all connected and stuff, and inside the building, really makes me wish I could just travel back in time every half decade or so and see what is going on in the building. It would be cool to come back to the times where this area started getting built up and all the hustle and bustle that goes along with that!
Doing extra work sometimes isn't ideal but when it's coupled with interesting things like this, it makes it much more interesting to do the work. The money is definitely a help but so isn't the atmosphere. One of the things I will miss when we eventually move far out of the area, is being able to snap up some work at this location. I think we will routinely come back to visit the Boston area, so perhaps we could even stop by around an upcoming work schedule.
