Hi fellow Ranters,
Today I wanted to celebrate the milestone of 1,000 people subscribed to the Rant community!
The Hive blockchain is quite an incredible place. It's full of people and content from all over the world, covering so many different topics. You could spend 24 hours in a day and find new content every single time you stopped one post and flipped over to another.
The community aspect of it is really what's taken off and become such an important and integral part of the way the blockchain has evolved. With that, never did I think that I'd be the owner of one of those communities that actually has some subscribers! Lol.
The Rant community, which is really the Rant, Complain, Talk community is a really fun place where you can go to post whatever you want (with some rare exceptions of course, one of those is AI content!) and it's often a place where people will let loose about something that's bothering them in their day to day life. There are also people who stop by just to shoot the shit and see what they can post that doesn't really fit anywhere else!
Over time though, the community gets more and more subscribers and I think that's so awesome! I feel like all of the subscribers are legit people too, because there aren't communities like OCD that are just followed by a bunch of bots and not really people who interact on Hive any longer.
Most of the people who have subscribed to the community have posted in it! I love getting to read all of the different things that are going on in a region, in someone's life and things that just feel like they need to bitch about and get their thoughts out. I wonder how many communities can say that! Lol.
With the slow increase in popularity of the community, one of the things that's been a little tricky to do is keep up with all of the posts! I love having that problem hahaha but what I feel bad is that I can't get to some posts before they hit payout so I can give them a little vote as a thank you for posting in the community.
That hasn't happened too many times but it has occurred lately. I do see that many of the posts in the community get some type of engagement on them which is also great. Some people hop over to the RCT community page and check out the posts to see what interests them. That's some awesome shit right there! Engagement is key that's for sure, especially as we are getting less engagement in our lives in various other means.
What's really cool though about it is the crazy varying amount of topics that gets dropped in there! I found out about the currency fiasco in Nigeria before many other people outside of Nigeria because the people who live there all started posting around the same time hahaha. It only recently stopped, honestly. I was seeing one or two posts a day for a while and it was about 4-5 weeks! Maybe longer lol.
The point is though, is that I have a whole lot of fun reading the various things drop in there. That's my best highlight for how fun the community is. Some of the posts intrigue me, some are really fun to go through as it's an adventure like Lauramic enjoys to drop every so often, others are funny and some are a little boring if I'm honest but the point is there's all kinds of stuff being dropped in there. I'm hoping the community doesn't get to a point where I find it very difficult to hit every post in there before payout occurs lol. It would certainly be a good problem but a problem nonetheless!
Not that I don't want things to skyrocket to the moon in various aspects, but I wonder how long it will take to hit the next 1,000 subscribers for the community? Not too bad taking 2 years to get to 1,000. In the past few months though, I've noticed a pretty big uptick in the amount of subscribers we get on a monthly basis. A lot of that is thanks to various folks like Erikah who give people the idea their post is better suited in my community here, but will it take a year or less to hit the next one? That would be cool to figure out!
