Every time I read in the news about some big shoot out that happened in good ol' Merica I know it's gonna spark some controversy across the pond and people will be upset about it for a while and after that things will eventually return to business as usual. I found this course of events repeating itself for what seems like forever to be partly amusing and partly tragic. Amusing for the fact people are reliving a sort of groundhog day and not getting sick of it and tragic for obvious reasons.
And of course it wouldn't be the land of the free if the gun debate wouldn't be politicized to hell and back which makes it even more ridiculous looking from the perspective of the detached European.
Like most rednec... I mean true Americans I also believe guns are cool and stuff but I would give that up in a heartbeat if it would mean less wild west type scenes happening in schools and hospitals.
Guess I'm feeling grateful for not having to worry about my loved ones getting randomly shot which is really nice. I'm still living in shithole country with crappy health care, poor infrastructure and so on but it beats getting filled with lead, at least in my mind. This gratefulness thing is a new experience for this grouchy old clown but I heard I should try it out :)
