As the midpoint of season 23 has just passed, the Storm Peak FC media relations team is excited to bring you another update on the squad:
As far as on the pitch results for the Stormers so far in League 3 #652 has left something to be desired. After 15 games Storm Peak FC sits 5th in the league table with 29 points and a +16 goal differential. The manger is confident that the team will perform better in the second half of the season to reach the preseason goal of challenging for the league title and promotion into league 2.
The front office was quite busy at the end of the last season and beginning of this one, adding 4 new starters to the team which might explain the uneven results of the first half as chemistry needed to be established and a team identity is formed. All 4 players are over 60 in OS and are all under 20 years old so they look to be lineup stalwarts for the foreseeable future even after promotion.
Financially, player salaries ballooned to 33,211 RBN/match as the owner gave the green light for the club to run in the red for the first few seasons as the team is established, facilities are constructed and the fan base is grown. Building a world class club from scratch is a long term process that costs significant capital investment to speed up. Luckily at Storm Peak FC we have an owner who understands this and is willing to make the investment early and often.
Player spotlight:
Roberto Caballero: 18 year old attacker from Spain who was brought in as a free agent prior to season 23. Roberto is a fantastic addition to the Storm Peak FC squad as he was able to step in almost immediately as our #9 and was able to slot away 8 goals through the first half of the season. We are excited for his future with Storm Peak and to watch him grow into a truly world class attacker.
