Today I wanna talk about the last movie of Christopher Hemsworth. If you plan to see the movie you should stop here cause this contain a lot of spoilers.
If not but still want some context about the action. The son of an indian drug lord; who is now in prison; is kidnapped by the biggest drug lord in Bangladesh. Chris plays the role of a black ops mercenary Tyler Rake who is hired by the Saju Rav, the child protector to rescue him from the kidnappers. Instead of paying the money for the mission Saju betrays Tyler and refuses to pay in an attempt to please the his boss, Ovi's father. This is leaving Tyler alone with the child in Bangladesh with every cop and drug dealer looking for him.
The movie was criticized for the excessive violence present and for a good reason, the start of the movie present Tyler as the badass nobody wanna mess with, and it hold this image for a good part of the movie, or until Amir Asif, the Bangladesh drug lord says: "Because no matter how badass you think you are, there's always a badass who's bigger than you."
From this moment the image of Tyler starts deteriorating, first is defeated by his formal buddy Gaspar, and it needs for Ovi to intervene to save his life.
We can say this creates even a stronger bond between the hostage and the savior, after Tyler can't abandon him cause of the reminder of his dead son. From this point we are back at the badass image, when Tyler restart his killing streak, cause I gotta say, no matter how big you are, a kid with a 9mm glock in his hand can kill you.
Next we got the bridge scene where Tyler, driven by his generosity, is sharing bullets to every single person he meets, here the atmosphere get a little nervous as Tyler is hit by a sniper.
The situation saved by this chick who, somehow, manages to counter this sniper before his final hit and give him a headshot from what seems to be at least 800 meters. In this moment you are relieved, thinking our guys are winning.
If you are wondering why I name them our guys and not the good guys, is because they are mercenaries killing for money without remorse and the single one who gives a damn about the kid is Tyler, and he's only doing it because of his kid.
After this the rest of the scene is a little bit dump in my opinion, as Tyler is shot in the neck by the local kid whose life he spared earlier.
This kid determination might be enough for him to manage to do the shot, since there was a chaos and every other soldier was blindly following orders, his revenge might be the reason for what he succeeded.
The dumb reason I find it to be that the counter sniper who just performed that amazing shot, misses a target 200m away not once, now twice, but 4 shots.
The ending gives you some satisfaction that the man who is responsible for so much death got his brain to became one with the wallpaper (at least she didn't missed this time).
Overall it's a great movie, the locations are perfectly chosen, it doesn't keep you to much waiting for the next phase, keeps the story straight to the point and gives you a lot of action and fighting. One that, if you didn't see it but you got this far reading, I hope I didn't spoiled it for you, after all I said in the first line this will contain spoilers.
