Act Two begins two months after the assassination of Baghdad's Caliph. This time, we find our hero, Basim, in a mountainous region called Alamut. This place is extremely important because it serves as a hidden base for the Hidden Ones. From here, they plan and carry out their operations.
Basim is currently being trained by his master, Roshan, who has been giving him basic training every day to prepare him for life as a Hidden One. Today's training was all about climbing, learning how quickly he could move up the mountains using rocks, cliffs, and small wooden poles.
Basim was already quite skilled at climbing, so completing the training wasn't too difficult for him. But after reaching the top, he was introduced to something completely new, the Leap of Faith.
The Leap of Faith allows an Assassin to jump from an extremely high point and land safely below. Basim decided to try it for the first time, but things didn't go exactly as planned. Although he successfully landed, he still lost some health and felt the impact.
Roshan then took Basim toward her chamber and explained why the Leap of Faith is so important to the Hidden Ones. According to her, it is one of their most powerful tools because it allows them to descend from great heights without fear and continue their missions safely.
Basim asked Roshan about the five masked people who had appeared before the Caliph. The Caliph was a powerful ruler, yet he seemed powerless and terrified in front of them. Basim wanted to know who they really were.
Roshan explained that those five individuals were high ranking members of the Order. The Order had influence over rulers and powerful leaders across different regions. They worked behind the scenes.
Roshan told Basim that Fuladh was looking for him and asked him to meet with him as soon as possible. The only problem was that Basim didn't know where Fuladh was. So, he asked another Hidden One nearby, who told him that Fuladh was in his office.
When he arrived at Fuladh's office, he found him discussing something with their combat trainer while looking over a map. We got our first proper look at Enkidu, Basim’s eagle, who would eventually become an important companion during his journey.
Fuladh then gave Basim a simple task. He needed some leather for his work, and the leather was stored in the storage room. Basim reached the storage room. He realized that finding anything there was going to be a challenge. The place was incredibly messy. After searching around for a while, he finally managed to find the leather.
At that moment Ahmid who was warning another Hidden One, Rehan, about the danger of helping the rebels in Baghdad. If the Order discovered that the Hidden Ones were supporting the rebels, they could track the connection back to the Hidden Ones’ base and launch an attack against them.
Rehan explained that he gathered information and secret intelligence from these rebels, so helping them was also part of his responsibility.
