With the electrification of motor vehicles (especially buses) we are seeing the demand for oil begin to drop. Given China's commitment to having millions of electric cars produced yearly by 2025 (just 6 years away) the reduction in demand for oil should accelerate. This is not just good for the environment but good economics as well. The operation of an electric car is massively cheaper than an internal combustion engine. No oil change, tune up, spark plugs, gasoline, etc... You can charge the battery for a 300 mile range for $5. A tank of gas is $45. We all win on this one. If the oil industry can convert to an energy company and get involved in all things solar they can evolve as well. That or disappear the way of the steam engine burning coal.
