The sea must be respected, not feared. Once this basic rule is understood, man's approach to him changes. Probably for me who live in a city near the sea coast, perhaps this concept seems almost elementary. But I guess the same rule is valid for the mountains, for example.
The sea in winter is very relaxing and calms me down, even when the sea is rough like today. Until a few years ago, when I still didn't work and had no family, I spent a lot of time sitting on a bench a few meters from the sea, reading books. A moment in which I was able to isolate myself from everyone and everything, something similar to Zen discipline, I was really at peace with myself.
Today, my life has definitely changed, much faster and more demanding, so few moments to decide for myself, very little for reading. But I continue to walk by the sea, especially in winter, because there is no noise from people and it is very, very pleasant. The dark colors of the sea are more evident today due to the menacing clouds, but at the moment it hasn't rained yet. The shapes that the clouds assume in the sky, modeled by the wind, and which join the sea on the horizon, are also bizarre. Seems like a common point of origin.
Difficult to understand where the magic of nature begins and where reality ends. It is truly a single indissoluble element. I adore the sea, I like breathing in the scent of the salt air or watching the seagulls flying above it. It would be a perfect place to live if it weren't for everything else around it.
