Since the launch of the new Exclusive card Ulfga the Blighted, purchasable only with $VOUCHERS, here is finally my personal card and that will now be added to my asset of available cards. At the moment each card can be purchased at the cost of 1500 VOUCHERS (about $15), being a legendary unit you need a total of 11 cards for a total cost of about $165.
The Exclusive cards are designed to incentivize users to burn VOUCHER tokens, justifying a use case for the token that is distributed to SPS holders. At the time of purchase I had about 650 tokens, the remaining part I purchased from the market, helping to remove a small part of the liquidity.
There are currently just over 15 million tokens in circulation, although a good portion are trapped forever in user accounts, as VOUCHER is no longer transferable to Hive Engine, so when the circulating stock on the internal market runs out it will no longer be possible to purchase other tokens but you can only get them from staking SPS.
My thought, shared by many others, is that the token would have no use, being the third token of Splinterlands (not counting SPT). However, since the community has decided not to eliminate it (obviously many buyers would be dissatisfied with this choice today), the team has decided to create unique cards, available every three months, purchasable only with VOUCHER. This is containing the token economy, which so far has seen over 5 million tokens spent between Ulfga the Blighted and Mana Warden. The team's initiative is therefore enjoying good success with the community.
I myself continue to accumulate low-cost SPS because, in addition to having great potential, it allows me to accumulate VOUCHERS to spend on new cards!
