From the outset, the goal of the Splinterlands team was to consider $DEC as a stablecoin within the game, tied to the $0.001 peg. The most significant problem was immediately to reduce the circulating supply which had reached significant numbers, almost 7 billion, effectively making price stability very difficult.
The supply reduction process would have passed from the game, and not from a possible buy & burn, and the team started a series of changes, for example in the rewards to the pools, replacing $DEC with $SPS, and encouraging users to burn $ $DEC for example with the most recent DEC-b purchase which effectively burned well over 1 billion tokens in just a few weeks.
On the other hand, the team has repeated several times that LAND will drain DEC and VOUCHER and we had a small preview last week, when the players took the survey and hundreds of millions of DEC tokens were burned in just a few days.
In my opinion, it will be necessary to burn DEC again before finding a stabilization and favoring the SPS->DEC conversion process, which in turn will generate great utility for the governance token and that mechanism will be activated which will be increasingly natural and convenient for SPS . The release of LAND 2.0, expected at the end of the year, will trigger a run on DEC and it is also probable that there will be a new sale of DEC-b, favoring the sustainable economy of the game.
The @splinterlands contests are not only meant to get us generous upvotes but above all to help us discover new cards that can be very useful in our battles and stimulate us to new strategies and more options in battle.
The low card prices, also caused by the large number of prints and availability of Chaos Legion cards, are a great entry point for new players. In fact, it is possible to build an excellent deck of cards by spending little, compared to the cards of previous editions. It will also be interesting to observe the upcoming airdrops of CL cards in order to better determine which Summoner to upgrade and consequently which cards to buy on the market!
Furthermore, the strategy that each player sets himself can undergo natural variations, in order to improve his deck of cards and climb the ranking of the best players, also obtaining higher rewards!
Good game
