We're not growing traditional cultivated sunflowers, but we have 3 patches of topinambur , which is a wild equivalent, with edible tubers - maybe called 'sunchokes' in America? Some of them are now taller than me, and we hope very much to see them soon flower; their blooms are less impressive than sunflowers, but are a gorgeous burst of colour in the dry wheat fields at the end of the summer π€
