Let me share some of my recent observations and personal thoughts, without intending to spark any intense reactions. If anything I say makes you feel uncomfortable, please forgive me in advance.
I've been pondering the impact of banning bots on the gaming experience lately. To be honest, ever since the bot ban in the modern league of Splinterlands, I've been facing constant bullying from my opponents. I keep losing multiple rounds, something that never happened before the bots were banned. What's going on? I'm in the silver league, but I keep getting matched with opponents from the gold league. I guess if I were in the gold league, I'd probably encounter opponents from the diamond league 90% of the time or more. It's really demoralizing, and I'm considering selling off all my cards and quitting the game. When I joined Splinterlands, it was during a time when $SPS and $DEC prices were relatively high, and I invested in some cards that I thought I needed for a better gaming experience. But now, my initial investment seems to have shrunk to just 1/20 of its value, and maybe only those who rent cards to "farming splinterlands" are making money. They appear to be clever, exploiting the system's loopholes. Should I cut my losses and call it quits?
Honestly, I believe the most expensive part of spending time on Splinterlands is the time itself. Life is limited, and playing a seemingly meaningless game just to earn a small amount of money may not be the best use of our time. Utilizing our time to enrich ourselves or spend quality time with family could be more valuable. Perhaps that's also a form of the value of bots. Anyway, whether I should quit or not, I need to think it over and observe a bit more.
