2/🧵The last physical book I read was Purple Hibiscus, a Nigerian novel centred on Nigerian culture and colonialism, written by the great author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The novel is centred on Kambili Achike, a 15-year-old girl who was struggling with expressing herself due to her father's strict Catholic rules. Their lifestyle has been decided by their father, Eugene. Eugene is a devoted Catholic who doesn’t joke with the things of God, but his family is never happy when looking at him; he is so perfect outside, but inside he is violent. Kambili started finding her voice when they went to visit Aunt Ifeoma.
