I have long wanted to talk about cards that do not have any type of attack in the game, which are widely used by players around the world in "Splinterlands", however, some of the less experienced players often underestimate this type of cards, Therefore, what I intend with this new post series is to detail all the benefits that this type of cards can provide us in the battlefield, also, the idea of all this is that you learn to use them in the right way and at the right time.
That is why, in this opportunity, the post that I will make will cover a different topic, focusing on the cards that many do not pay attention to, such as those that do not have any type of attack, in that sense, you will know which are the best and how we are going to use them or at what times you have to do it, also, we will only analyze and see for now the "Fire and Water Splinters", since I don't want to make this post too long, since, in total there will be 6 different Splinters that I have to analyze to discover which card of this type is the best of all, at the end, after having detailed all the equipment, what I will do will be to make a kind of voting, so that the community chooses which of these cards they prefer, but, this will be a topic for another publication.
So, if you want to know which are the best NO ATTACK cards of the whole game in the "Fire and Water" Splinters, I hope you read this post until the end, I am sure you will like it and that you will take a very good information from it, so, with nothing more to say, join me:
The cards without attack can actually work in the game for many things, from being a "Tank" battle quite resistant, to be a very important monster of "Support", to even get some attack points and fight like any other card with original attack, however, when the game started and there were not yet many editions of these, there were only the "Betas" and maybe "Untamed", this type of cards or monsters as you want to call them, only worked as "Cannon Fodder", or to call it in a less derogatory way, a "Decoy" monster, which received all possible attacks to gain time and get the rest of my "Offensive" cards to do all the work to win the battle.
This is how it was played back then, but, in the current game, with more changes, new rules and abilities that have been introduced over time, the "No Attack" cards have become a fundamental piece for any deck of cards in the game, even becoming in the "Meta" of the game for the incredible strategies that can be built with them, as long as we can analyze and/or evaluate well the situation and the conditions of the battle, to justify their position on the battlefield, so, to define a single function for this type of cards, would be an insult to the game and the many players who use them in an incredible way, in that sense, the function of this type of cards would vary depending on the conditions in which we find ourselves, but, personally I think, that these cards work in a better way in the following scenarios:
As "Defense": This type of "No Attack" cards work mainly to defend our alignment, so yes, it has been being used for this for a long time and even in current times, it still serves for exactly the same, so, planting a good defense with a "No Attack" card accompanied by its corresponding back up and some support cards, can make a quite powerful and functional alignment for different conditions in battle centered on "Defense" as the best weapon, although, in general, for this type of use, the cards have a very good speed and is accompanied by the ability of "Flying or Dodge".
For a good "Counterattack".: Something I love about this type of cards, is that many or most of them, offer a type of "Counterattack" quite useful to weaken the "Offensive" of our opponent, since, thanks to their own strength, they receive a damage proportional to it, so, besides defending, indirectly they can also Counterattack with some specific skills, such as; Magic Reflect, Thorns, Return Fire and Backfire.
Place them on the "Offensive": This last use is quite new for me and even for the game as such, since months ago was introduced in the game the ability called "Weapons Training", which gives all monsters without attack in a very specific position, attack points according to the type or types of attack that the card with the ability of "Weapons Training" has. Honestly I have not personally tested this strategy, however, I will be looking to try it out and comment on how to use it and all the corresponding details.
Note: With all these uses, I have finished the introduction of functions of this type of cards, for future publications where I detail other "Splinters", I will not be talking about this, but, I thought it was very important to explain it in the post, so that everyone is in tune with what I want to express.
The "No Attack" cards in the "Fire Splinter" are scarce, there really aren't many monsters with this kind of particularity, something that doesn't surprise me much, since, this team is characterized by being very physical and physically strong, remembering that, the specialty of this "Splinter" is the "Melee" type of attack, so, introducing many monsters of this nature in this "Splinter", would go against what its roots are, but, the ones that exist, are not so bad and really can be used for certain game conditions, but, just that, they would be necessary for only very specific rules, so, they are not as versatile as others, at least not for the "Fire" team, so, to continue, the "No Attack" cards in this splinter are the following:

This card is awesome, its stats are extremely good, carrying with it basically all the functions I mentioned above, so, this card can "Defend, Counter and Attack", the name of this fabulous card is "Iidri Fyre", an epic card from the "Rewards" edition under the "Chaos Legion" framework under the "Soulbound" modality, which means that, we can't market it yet.
As I said this is the strongest card, the only way to get it currently is playing, and I highly recommend it, as it can be lethal if we know how to play it and combine it, but, I will not focus on it in this post because it would make this post too long, taking into account that I still have to detail the "Water Splinter", but, if you like in a future post I can explain combinations and game modes for this type of cards, just leave in the comments if you want and I will be fulfilling those ideals.
The "No Attack" cards in the "Water Splinter" are more numerous than in the fire team, not that they abound, but there is certainly more variety and let me tell you that all the types of functions that I described are also present in this team, in fact, there is a card that I like to use a lot and focuses on the "Support" of the team, it has an extremely useful combination of skills, which can be lethal for different types of alienations, however, the water team is a bit "Hybrid", but, I must say that, its specialty is focused on the "Magic" attack, speaking of course of playing in the "Wild" format, which is the game mode on which I base, but, not to extend more, the "No Attack" cards in this splinter are the following:
Albatross:
Merdaali Guardian:

Well, definitely the new cards of the "Soulbound" reward edition, bring with them the strongest "No Attack" cards we have seen in the whole game, since, in the "Water Splinter", "Noa the Just" gets this incredible position, since, her special set of abilities allows her to function in all areas of the game, since she can serve as "Defender", she can "Counterattack" and if that wasn't enough she can also "Attack", all this thanks to as I already commented to her abilities, which, are the following; (Rust), reduces the enemy's shield by -2 points, (Dodge) allows you to increase by 25% the chances of dodging a melee attack and range, (Backfire), a great ability capable of causing -2 points of damage if our opponent misses his attack and finally the great ability of (Martyr), which, when "Noa the Just" dies, the cards adjacent to this acquire in all their statistics +1 point.
With this explanation I have reached the end of this special post, talking specifically about the "No Attack" cards, focusing in this opportunity on the "Fire and Water" Splinters, on the other hand, I hope it helps you to know the potential that these cards have, since they are quite used by the current players of "Splinterlands", besides, I myself have used them a lot of times and I hope you can learn to read their functionalities and strengths according to what I wrote in the post. In future posts I could talk about alienations and specific strategies with these cards, since it is a very different topic from the one I wrote about here, so, if you want this content, leave your comments and I will be glad to plan it for the next weeks.
Without further reference, until the next "Splinterlords".
