낚시(feat.운하)

네곰보(NEGOMBO)는 콜롬보에서 북쪽으로 약 35km 떨어진 해안에 위치한 스리랑카 최대의 어항을 지닌 도시이다.
국제공항이 가깝기 때문에 최근 트랜짓 승객을 위한 리조트 호텔들이 도시 북부에 여러개 세워져 리조트 지역으로 알려지게 되었다.
그러나 네곰보의 원래 모습은 어디까지나 어민들의 도시로 콜롬보나 갈레와 마찬가지로 항구로서 오랜 역사를 지니고 있다.
아랍 상인들의 시나몬 무역 기지로 사용된 이후 포르투갈에서 네덜란드로 이어진 식민지시대에서도 지배의 중심으로서 중요한 항구였다.
이러한 역사는 지금의 네곰보에도 큰 영향을 미치고 있는데 형체가 남아 있는 것은 성채와 운하이다. 성채는 네곰보를 항구로 키워온 거대한 만(灣)의 입구에 서서 도시를 지켜보고 있고 운하는 도시 중앙을 가로질러 흐른다.
이 운하는 길이가 129km에 이르며, 지금도 사람들의 생활 물자를 운송하는 동맥으로 사용되고 있다. 네곰보 주민들의 생활을 지탱해 주고 있는 것은 그리스도교이다. 포르투갈인이 이곳에 와서 전도를 시작했는데, 지금은 주민 대부분이 그리스도교인이다. 때문에 도시 곳곳에서 멋진 교회를 볼 수 있다.
네곰보의 참모습을 보고 싶다면 이른 아침 해안에 늘어서는 어시장에 가보아야 한다.
쌍동선이 뭍에 닿을 때마다 기다리고 있던 많은 사람들이 술렁거리며 해안은 사람과 배 . 생선 그리고 생선을 노리는 까마귀로 뒤덮인다. 이른 아침 해안을 찾는 사람들에게 아침 식사를 파는 천막들까지 들어서 법석거리는 모습은 점심때까지 계속된다.
한편 리조트 지역은 서구화된 멋진 비치로드로 되어 있다. 여기서는 외국인들의 모습이 조금도 신기하지 않고, 여행자들이 불편하지 않도록 쾌적한 설비가 갖추어져 있다. 하지만 진짜 네곰보를 느끼고 싶다면, 저녁에 일찍 햇볕에 그을린 몸을 일찍 쉬게 하고 아침에 서둘러 해안의 어시장으로 나가보는 것이 좋다

Negol (NEGOMBO) is Sri Lanka's largest fishing port, located about 35 kilometers north of the island of Colombo.
As an international airport is close, several resorts hotels for transit passengers have recently been built in the north of the city and are known as the resort area.
But the original shape of the four bears had a long history as a port, just like the fishermen's city of Columbonagale.
It was also an important port for control during the colonial period, from Portugal to the Netherlands, after it was used as an Arab merchant's cinnamon trading station.
This history has a huge influence on the four existing poles, although the remaining shape is the Fort and Canal. The fort stands watching the city from the entrance to the Great Harbor, raising the four peaks into the harbor, and the canal runs through the middle of the city.
The canal, which is 122km long, is still used as an artery to transport people's daily necessities. It is Christianity that supports the lives of the four pocketbooks. Portuguese people came here and began to preach, but now most of the people are Christians. Therefore, you can see nice churches all over the city.
If you want to see the true appearance of your smallpox, you should go to an early morning fish market on the coast.
Many people who wait for the ships whenever they reach land are stirred, and the coast is covered with crows, which aim for human, ship, fish, and fish. The fuss continues until lunch, even with tents for breakfast sales to early morning beachers.
Meanwhile the resort area is made up of a nice Westernized beach road. The foreigners are not surprising in appearance here, and they are equipped to provide comfortable accommodation for tourists. But if you really want to feel your mole, you'd better get your tanned body out early in the evening and hurry off to the fish market off the coast.
