Today I am alright.
I woke up in the morning,
Felt around for my spectacles
(They tell me it was quite the spectacle)
Put them on, squinted a little,
Then got up and the first thing I did was
Smile, because
For the first time in days
I was alright. I found my old watch
Underneath my favourite book,
Put some music on, called you,
We talked for an hour and
I didn’t want to stop, but then we had to; even so,
It was alright. The sky was sunny,
I was too
Maybe life isn’t as bad as I thought it would be;
Maybe it’s alright.
