Everyone of us had a dream to own a dog when we were young, however there are some of us are still dreaming to have a dog that will protect them in time of need. In this blog I like to share to you guys my personal criterion on how to choose the right dog for your personal and family protection.
Buying a puppy is like lottery for those who do not have experience because it could be chance for the better or it could be a chance for worst.
I'd like to share some points you need to consider when you are planning to adopt a puppy for your personal protection (Belgian Malinois, German Shepherd or any breed of protection dogs);
For Detection dogs - you should look for puppies who loves to search and retrieve objects, whatever you throw they will give it back to you, they show a potential for retrieving drive or hunting drive.
For Protection Dogs - The puppy must have inherit qualities, they must show agitated when they are biting the rug used to develop their focus.
-They should stand in extreme sounds like gun shots and other materials that will create loud noise.
-They must have the nerve to fight back and remain biting.
-The agitator should feel the tagging power while the puppy biting the rug, it is a good sign to have this qualities for a good protection dog in the future.Do not look for the size, looks and papers of the dog when choosing the right puppy, The most important is the potentials of the dog.
