Usually, I like to walk in the afternoon. Though it's no regular but whenever I get time I enjoy this thing. Sometimes, I get company or it was the evening breeze who gave me a parallel company.
I choose the streets which seem a bit empty or lorn ones. That doesn’t mean I a hater of crowd and chaos. I literally live with them. Ha ha! But it is equally true that when I choose to spend some time alone; Just walking by the street; I feel happiness and calm inside me. Every time, it helped me overcome my stress and melancholia.
On that particular evening, I was walking down the street, the night was lonesome and gloomy. The street was empty, only thin lights were illuminating the way. Though my day was a busy one but I managed to go out for a walk. The whole urban ambience was chaotic and my mind just wanted to have relief. The wind was blowing softly, carrying the fallen leaves with it. I was just walking and thinking about my busy schedule.
However, I continued walking. Keeping the thoughts aside I was just searching for the subtle solace around me. And you will be amazed to know that it was indeed a great experience.
The street was so quiet, it was almost eerie. I could hear my own footsteps echoing in the night. Many of you can have a similar experience but the main thing that drew my attention was the calmness of the ambience. I felt like I was the only one in the world. I looked around, but there was no one else. The street was deserted.
I like to compose poems and I must confess that the overflowing spontaneous feelings which I express through words come from this kind of calm environment where I can sink into deep within the thought. And, it helps me to think, generate and have good feelings about it.
It was a similar kind of evening that I had experienced. The thin lights were casting a faint glow on the pavement. The shadows of the trees were dancing in the light. Some lines from the almost forgotten poem came into my mind and subconsciously I started reciting that. Such a good feeling indeed. I was not conscious that I could remember that poem.
I could see the leaves that had fallen from the trees, scattered on the ground. The wind was blowing softly, carrying the leaves with it. A soft tone of murmurs was filled around the street.
I kept walking, my thoughts were not still. It was like jumping from here and there. Suddenly, I felt a pang of sadness in my heart. I wished you were here with me, walking down this street.
The night was getting darker and darker. I could feel the chill in the air. I shivered and pulled my coat closer around me. I kept walking, my thoughts still on nothing certain. I forgot how far I walked, how far will I go? Measures in Miles! Though I ain't sleepy now. But I know I will definitely paddle these thoughts around me which were encircled with my numb feelings.
I looked up at the sky. The stars were twinkling in the night sky. I felt a sense of peace and calm. I felt like I was in a different world, a world where you and I were together.
Oh! I reached the end of the street and I could see numerous vehicles passing with speed on the Highway! I decided to make a U-turn and surprisingly it took much longer to get back.
I don't know if there was something around the ambience that made my feelings uphold these sorts of thoughts. But I have enjoyed the walk and it was super helpful to reduce my monotony of the ongoing hazardous life.
Thank you for your time.
Chillax!
