Hello everyone and welcome to my post for this weeks Wednesday Walk
Wednesday Walk created by @tattoodjay , be sure to stop by and give him a big sloppy upvote =)
This week I've been out on Woodley Island with my new lens looking for shore birds mostly.
I usually start off at the big copper fisherman's statue on the very West end of the Island by the lighthouse then make my way East along the Marina.
I'm going to walk about half the island, just past the Marina Cafe to a couple of large trees since there is nothing happening for birds on the West end except for Seagulls of course.
As I get to the trees I'm heading for I'm not disappointed as there are about a half dozen birds roosting in the branches.
Everyone. Say hello to the Night Herons, sometimes called Black Crowned or Black Caped Night Herons( even though they are blue not black O.o)
The Herons can be found here most days but only in the two trees in the middle of the island. These trees line the whole South side of the island but the Herons only nest in the two.
Well It's getting late and I'm loosing the light so it's time to head back to the car( <,< looks at Marina Cafe)
Someone heading out for a sunset troll in the bay.
Well that's it for this week. The weather is getting warmer and I've made it out of hibernation for the most part.
Should be way more active all around now lol
