Day 3 of MCGI MASS INDOCTRINATION on 8th November, 2023. My Review.
PRAYERS IN THE CHURCH
We thank God for the mass indoctrination of today. It was a great time listening to the doctrines of Jesus Christ. We also thanks God for His grace upon our father, Bro Eli Soriano who has been instrumental in explaining the doctrines to us. I must confess that these teachings are really helping my beliefs in Jesus.
In the indoctrination of today, our father, Bro Eli Soriano explained to us how we should pray in the church so that God will hear us. It will be waste of effort if we say we are praying and then God will not listen to our prayers. So, I love this lesson of today because it helps me to check my prayer life.
1) We should stop repetitions of words during prayers
Bro Eli revealed a truth to us that it is wrong praying to God with meaningless repetitions of words. Also, he said that praying the rosary is not a biblical doctrine. So, when we come to pray, we should avoid vain repetitions. We should not be part of those who pray with the rosary because it is wrong.
2) We show avoid praying like the hypocrites
The hypocrites pray to be seen by men. They like shouting and lifting up their hands and making several demonstrations in the church for others to see that they can pray. This type of praying is bad.
3) It is preferable to kneel down during prayers
Bro Eli Soriano told us that kneeling down during prayers is preferable. He said following the footsteps of Jesus and the early apostles is right. The early apostles adopted kneeling down during prayers. Also, he made it known to us that it doesn't mean that God won't answer our prayers when we don't kneel down. In whatever posture we adopt, God will still hear us and answer us if our motive is right.
4) Women should cover their heads while men should not cover their heads during prayers
Another thing Bro Eli Soriano told us was the concept of covering our heads. Women are to cover their heads during prayers while men should not cover their heads during prayers.
I thank God that I was blessed with this message. It will help me in my prayers.
