Hace un tiempo culminé una ilustración para un cliente, y quería compartirsela por acá. Se trataba de un concepto bastante interesante, y la verdad que quedé muy satisfecho con el resultado final por lo que espero les guste tanto como a mi.
Mi cliente era un rapero, que queria una ilustración que representara como este abandonaba su trabajo para correr detrás de su sueño como cantante. Me especificó que quería que su personaje se estuviera quitando su traje de cocinero, haciendo referencia a Superman cuando este se quita su traje de reportero, mientras se alejaba del establecimiento.
Para ello tome de referencias poses de superhéroes y en el fondo, tomé de referencias calles de ciudades vintage. Acá les mostraré a detalle el paso a paso, para que vean como fue mi proceso creativo.
HELLO AGAIN, TRUNKS!
Some time ago I finished an illustration for a client, and I wanted to share it here. It was a very interesting concept, and the truth is that I was very satisfied with the final result, so I hope you like it as much as I do.
My client was a rapper, who wanted an illustration that represented how he left his job to run after his dream as a singer. He specified that he wanted his character to be taking off his cook suit, making reference to Superman when he takes off his reporter suit, while he was leaving the establishment.
For this I used superhero poses as references and in the background, I used vintage city streets as references. Here I will show you in detail the step by step, so you can see how was my creative process.
Step by Step:
Primero, comence haciendo un boceto rustico del artista, para luego definir los rasgos y detalles principales. Tambien hice un boceto rústico del fondo.
First, I started by making a rustic sketch of the artist, and then defined the main features and details. I also made a rustic sketch of the background.
Luego, decidí centrarme en el lineart y el color de nuestro protagonista. Quería usar una paleta de colores muy brillosa, que diera la sensación de que nuestro protagonista estaba renunciando de su trabajo en pleno atardecer. No se si lo logré o no, pero me gustó mucho.
Then, I decided to focus on the lineart and color of our protagonist. I wanted to use a very bright color palette, which would give the feeling that our protagonist was quitting his job in the middle of the sunset. I don't know if I succeeded or not, but I liked it a lot.
Al cúlminar a nuestro protagonista, revisé nuevamente mi boceto rustico y me concentré en perfeccionarlo para luego continuar con el lineart y el coloreado. Coloreé el fondo de la misma manera en la que trabaje al protagonista.
After finishing our protagonist, I reviewed again my rustic sketch and concentrated on perfecting it and then continued with the lineart and coloring. I colored the background in the same way I worked on the main character.
Por último, agregué mas brillo de sol al fondo y visibilicé la capa de nuestro protagonista para observar si encajaban bien juntos. Me pareció que si. Y luego, agregué mi firma al dibujo.
Finally, I added more sunshine to the background and made our protagonist's cape visible to see if they fit well together. It seemed to me that they did. And then, I added my signature to the drawing.
