A couple of days ago I was watching many documentaries and series from ancient Japan, where they showed the daily life of the villagers of that time and the different customs that they had. It was in this way that the need to create some character, nomad or warrior, set in a dystopian ancient Japan was born within me.
This is how Lofi, a Samurai warrior, is born whose mission is to find his lost brother, becoming involved in endless problems and adventures.
Step by step
1. I started drawing a small sketch of Lofi's on a blank sheet of paper.
2. Then I started drawing his sword and armor.
3. I continued to draw his armor.
4. I decided to start drawing her face.
5. I finished drawing and shading his armor.
6. I continued drawing the grass and its helmet resting on the ground.
7. I decided to start drawing his face and protector.
8. I finished drawing her hair and eyes.
9. After this, I took a picture of the drawing and transferred it to my art program to work on it.
10. I decided to start making the Lineart to start with the coloring. I started drawing Lofi and his helmet.
11. Then, I drawed the grass and the cut tree trunks.
12. After finishing the trunks, I finished the lineart.
13. I started with coloring, painting his skin.
14. Then I painted his protector and warrior clothing.
15. Then I painted his war armor.
16. I continued painting his chest and shoes.
17. I continued painting his hair.
18. Then I painted the tree trunks and the grass.
19. I continued painting his helmet.
20. And finishing the process, I added the background and my signature.
As final result: The Samurai Warrior.
To the curious, Lofi is a young 19-year-old warrior, known to be the last living descendant of the Kufjin, a respected family of Samurai warriors. The "Dusk of a Prosperous Day" Massacre (meaning of the Clan symbol), or the Kufjin Clan Massacre, was a tragic battle that ended in disgrace. The Uzuchis (ancestral enemies of the Kufjin), sneaked into the Kufjin residence at midnight, attacking them all by surprise. They fought fiercely among themselves although unfortunately, thanks to the Uzuchis' attack strategy, the Kufjin were killed. By then Lofi was just 10 years old and survived thanks to his parents, who forced him to hide until it was all over. His orders were clear, no matter what the outcome was, he must remain hidden.
Despite having refused at all costs due to his honor and that of his family, he could not disobey direct orders from his parents who knew that Lofi was still too young for such a brutal confrontation.
Lofi was then abandoned to his fate by fate, forced to wander through different towns looking for food and shelter. One night an old monk found him and decided to adopt him as a ward, teaching him to fight and survive.
As the years passed, Lofi continued his training and decided to say goodbye to his beloved tutor to set out on a journey in search of his lost brother, who had been sent a year before the tragedy to special training outside his country.
From this moment on, Lofi begins to find himself involved in endless adventures and fights as he progresses on his journey, hoping someday to find his brother.
