Waterworld Cebu
When I was a child, I used to envy other children who can afford to go to malls, parks, and beaches. My family back then had no enough financial resources to do such things. Now that our family is growing and I have my nephews, I encourage my siblings to let their children experience the fun of going to malls, parks, and beach resorts which we never had a chance of doing when we were kids.
Fortunately, one day, a sales agent went to the school, where my wife and I are working, selling discount tickets of Waterworld Cebu, which is the biggest waterpark in Cebu in Central Visayas.
When Grace and I went home, I excitedly told my nephews that we would visit Waterworld Cebu and asked them to persuade their parents (my siblings) to let them go too. Luckily, my siblings agreed so we then set the date for our water adventures!
We left the house around 8:30 in the morning. We are very fortunate because we rode on a “free-ride-van” of the local government of Mandaue. That took a lot of hassle from riding a public utility bus. We just needed to write all our names for monitoring purposes. We had enjoyed this free ride a lot.
We arrived at Waterworld Cebu around 9:00 in the morrning. We immediately went to the registration booth, listed our names in the guestlist, and signed the agreement form. We brought our own food so it was weighed down to calculate for the corkage fee. You need to pay 300 pesos for the first-three kilograms of food that you bring inside the waterpark and 50 pesos for the exceeding kilos. We paid a total of 600 pesos for the food corkage.
Grace presented our Waterworld Discount stubs in the counter and we were given tickets that we presented in the entrance. I was directed to a shop to avail of the Waterworld wristband that we could load up to buy food and drinks in the waterpark. Grace loaded 1000 pesos only in our wristband intended only for water and soda.
All of us, especially the kids, were very excited to change to our swim wear when we saw this very inviting and fun-looking water adventures. So we rushed to our table to put our food and things in one place and then applied sunscreen all over our face and body to minimize the chances of getting sunburns. After that, I told my nephews and niece that we could already enjoy and swim.
The children run to the pool area immediately but I told my nephews and niece that they still need to pose for a picture before they can truly go, that made them a little annoyed. I needed to yell "Pose nga kanang nalipay" or "pose as if you are happy" to achieve this convincing photo. Haha.
My nephews and niece tried the River Rapids first. Yassher was a little scared because he thought that the water was deep. He was afraid that he might slipped away from the donut floater and get drowned. However, the other three children were very confident and were just enjoying every minute in the River Rapids. Anyway, I was with them all the way until they finished the first round of the River Rapids. My goal was for them to trust me.
We were just there for five minutes or so but we could already feel the harsh heat of the sun. I know we would get sunburns after even if we applied sunscreen all over our faces and bodies but we also knew that we had to endure all the heat to fully enjoy our entire stay at Waterworld Cebu.
The children were unstoppable when they started the slides and the pool. They wanted to try everything in the Funtasea. They did not want to be disturbed by some sick photo or video shots! They slide individually most of the time, or in duos, or in groups.
As for my mother, who has arthritis for years, she strongly refused to join because of her weak knees and she also reasoned out that she did not bring a rashguard. But, I did not want her to miss this opportunity, which I know she also did not experience during her childhood. So, I took off my rashguard and gave it to her. I was so happy when she joined us in the pool.
This kind of moments is very rare for my mother, so I took all the opportunity to be with her in pictures and in experiences. I requested her to try the slides, she was complaining that she did not want to do it because she might not be able to get up after the slide, so I told her that I would be by her side to help her get up, so eventually she agreed to try one of the slides in Funtasea. I helped here in climbing up the stairs to reached the top of the slide, we waited for a while because there were kids who were also using the slides that time. Then, it was our turn. The slide with my mom would be one of the best memories we have made together.
There are lots of water park rides that you can try here ranging from easy to moderate to extreme slides such as the Dare Drop, Mat Racer, Space Hole, Speed Shooter, Tornado, Tsunami Wave Pool, River Rapids, Loop, Funtasea, and Family Roller Coaster.
I have not tried all the rides because I got dissappointed of the long queue in some of tge waterpark rides. Some of the rides were also not operational or under maintenance such as the Speed Shooter, Dare Drop, and Loop. They also did not operate all the available rides simultanenously because I think they were under-staffed or was cost-cutting. I also did not like the idea that they do not allow anyone to bring water inside the theme park knowing that it is very hot and sunny.
In summary, I would say that we enjoyed our visit here, it is indeed a happy place to go. I would recommend it to all the people who want to spend fun and good time with their family or friends. Just do not forget to bring sunscreen with you, and please drink lots of water, people!
I hope you had fun reading this blog. Until next time, Hivers! See you around! ❤️
