GRAND VENICE CANAL
Hello, everyone! I hope you are all doing great!
For today, I would like to share to you the continuation of our Taguig escapade since I already started it in my previous posts at BGC. I am very grateful for all of you who have given their time to read those posts.
This time we went to the popular tourist spot in Taguig called the "Venice Grand Canal Mall". This has caught explosive attention when it was opened years ago. But even up to this day, many people still visit the place because of its very instagrammable spots and for its very Venetian feels.
Actually, this was already my second time here and like the first time, I was very much pleased of this place. It feels like you really are in a different country. Join me as I again tour this place, this time with my pretty wife.
We went here after strolling around BGC. We already got body massages and ate Jollibee at Market Market so we thought that we were ready to do walking again. Grace and I were also very excited for Ann and France who were first-timers here.
Aside from the fact that we were here to take pictures, our first objective also was to look for a place where we can put our bags for our Ilocos Tour for the next three days. But when we entered the mall, we were greeted by the very inviting and blue man-made canal which is the main attraction of this mall.
So, instead of looking for a proper place where we could put our bags, we just put it in the corner to get our cameras and phones to start taking pictures. I think that is very normal (well at least for us).
We just could not stop taking pictures of the grand canal, make it as a background of our photos, and update our instagram and facebook stories. For example these....
Indeed, it was GRAND! The vibrant colors of the structures plus the blue green waters are just so beautiful. For me, replicating the Grand Canal in Italy is a good move because it allows people who could not travel to other countries for different reasons, experience what it feels like to be there.
I am attracted so much with its architecture and design. As what I have mentioned in my previous posts I am a frustrated architect! So, seeing something like this is like heaven to me.
The Venice Grand Canal Mall is also dubbed as the most romantic mall in the entire Philippines, so we did not miss to have sweet poses with my wife. It felt like we were doing again our prenup and post-nuptials shots.
But, I tell you this is not only for lovers because I see a lot of people there going with their families or friends. There are even some people who enjoyed their "me times". So, do not hesitate to go there if there is a chance.
You can also enjoy here the gondola ride tours to complete your experience. The gondolas can be found underneath the replica of Rialto Bridge. I still have not experience it even if this was already my second time to visit here. So, I guess I still have a reason to come back. Okay, give me two minutes to imagine and do manifestations that I will be riding the gondola with my family - my wife and maybe two children.
Eventually, we got satisfied of the poses and number of photos we took from this section of the mall so we decided to go inside to find a café where we can stay and rest for a while.
While we were inside, I would randomly ask Grace to stop to pose. Although, she really isn't fun of being photographed, she obeyed. But there were really times when she was pissed off of me for always taking photos. Hahaha
As for me, the inside of the mall was okay. It has different stalls of stores and people were warm and welcoming but I noticed that there were less people inside compared to the outside which brought me to my conclusion that people who visit were here for the exterior beauty of the mall.
Well, anyway, that is only a personal insight. There are still so many factors to consider like it was still early in the Friday afternoon, so mall goers were probably still at work.
I was also captured by these wall paintings or art that I saw in the mall. It was really awkward when taking these photos because I was the only person who was doing that in the mall, and even in my group. But that was okay because it would make me regret if I did not do it. I love art, and nobody can change that.
Also, the thought that I was the only one doing it made me realized how poor people recognize and appreciate art but I hope that that would change somehow.
Finally we found this Black Scoop Cafe where we could stay and rest before we head to the pick-up point for our Ilocos Tour. It was actually near the entrance. We did not notice this for sure because we were very excited to see the Grand Canal.
So, this cafe has a good vibe because they play good music, the crew were very friendly, the place was cozy, and only very few customers were there when we entered.
France and Ann decided to have their early dinner here because they were also offering rice meals. While Grace and I went back inside the mall because she was craving for a hot soup. I decided to order a frappe after having our dinner.
Grace and I wandered again the mall to look for a restaurant where we can have our dinner "with the soup that she was looking for". It was already five in the afternoon during that time so I was already feeling hungry. Fortunately, we found Kuya J inside.
After the meal, we went out and we noticed that the series lights were already lit up. So we quickly went there for another clicks. I promised Grace that we would be quick so that we can go back to the café with Ann and France.
Overall, all of us were having an amazing experience at Venice Grand Canal Mall. We love this very huge work of art, every detail of this replica is very beautiful. I don't think there is a single person who has gone there without saying "wow" and has not taken a picture of the place. Going to places like this make me more proud as a Filipino.
So, I guess I'll see you on my next post! See you there!
