Moving from the web2 space to the web3 might not sound so much of a big deal to a few but it was to me.
Incase you’ve never come across the term web2 or web3, here’s a breakdown -
We all know how we started from the first web, which was the “read - only” web or web1.
Web2 is the evolution of web1, where we are now allowed to interact with the web.
Though there were still some restrictions, limits or boundaries to what can be done in this web.
Then came web3, the decentralized web and truth been told there’s no limit to what can be done in this web.
So here are some reasons why I chose to migrate from the web2 space to the web3 space:
ENHANCED SECURITY
Over the years I have experienced one or two hacks which resulted to lost of funds and vital informations.
But with the help of Blockchain Cryptography, it has helped in reducing the risk of data hacks and breaches therefore improving security.
OWNERSHIP & CONTROL
Web3 gives you a better sense of ownership and control over your assets such as digital assets, cryptocurrencies etc.
DECENTRALIZATION
Decentralization is a big one for me ‘cause it’s reduces the power held by central authorities and gives users more control over their data, assets and online interactions.
TRANSPARENCY AND TRUST
With the help of Blockchain technology which is the fundamental part of web3, users are now able to carry out much more transparent transactions which make the system more trustworthy.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES
The list is endless when it comes to opportunities in the web3 space, ranging from potential projects building on a daily basis to 100x alphas, this opens a door to several jobs opportunities in the space.
I have come to stay in the web3 space and I don’t see myself leaving anytime soon.
