Midnight Groovers - Suffering
Roots!
I'm a roots man. Don't get me wrong I can groove to dancehall, ska, rocksteady and so on as the mood is but roots hits me in the soul... I was listening to a complilation on Youtube, heard this song "Suffering" by this band and off I went trying to learn about them. Originally from Dominica, yet speaking French, singing in English and later turning to Calypso, this release from the 70's is raw and direct full of roots feeling.
