There was a man whose job is to recruit teachers and carry out classroom observations, to make sure teachers know what they are doing, and give them support to do it better.
He said recruitment was a problem in the country due to how teachers were underpaid and seems not to be recognized as one of the best lucrative works like other fields of endeavor such as doctor, pilo, engineer, lawyer, pharmacist, and so on.
Teachers were not treated as a job that most of these careers job mentioned above passed through before they became it.
Infact, in some schools both private and public, students are more respected than teachers just because he/she is attending the best school and it was hard to correct such students because you can be fired. You have to think before talking to such students in a classroom, and in most cases such students contributed nuisance in the class.
Another reason why why recruitment wasn't that easy was that, teaching was not a job you can hit jackpot. There was a time, teachers were seriously needed, an advert was placed. A young man walked into the school premises due to the advert and he submitted his curriculum vitae showed that he was a high experienced teacher which might not real.
The Director of the school don't have a choice than to employ him due to the urgency needs of teacher, the young man was employed as a teacher.
His first class was merely jamboree, we don't have a choice than to tell him to go.
There's no best teaching strategies for effective learning because:
THE FOLLOWING ARE TEACHING STRATEGIES FOR EFFECTIVE LEARNING
a. Showing: this column represents teaching materials such as instructional materials that will make the teaching looks as its real. Making this materials attractive can facilitate effective learning and make students remembered what they have learned.
The research shows that multi-screen display can decrease the cognitive load and improve learners' achievement which is more far better than single-screen.

b. Manageable: As a manager in the class, everything has to me manageable but you. Class management, network management apparatus, electrical and safety management should be carried out by you.
c. Accessible: make your content and text distribution accessible and conducive to independent self-learnig, interactive, cooperative for the betterment of Educational socialization. Make sure the students understand the words you used in the text for better understand.
d. Real-Time Interactive Feature: this is the ability to support teaching-learning interactions and human-computer interactions which involves interactive tracking among teachers and students for effective learning and teaching such as voice and visual interactions.
e. Testing: this aspect is to measure the perception of the physical environment and learning behaviors during classroom interaction.
FOCUS ON STUDENTS: you have to be students-centric not teacher-centric. To bring the best of your students, a teacher should have interest and compassion on the subject you are teaching and the students. Failure to do so may not produced good result. Because once you are not interested in the subject, it will seem more demanding and you won't be able to teach with passion and the students will end up learning nothing.
CONNECTING NEW CONCEPTS WITH OLD AND REAL-WORLD IDEAS: when you are teaching a topic in a classroom, if you want to improve interest among your students or give them the best explanation, the best method is to relate it with an old concepts or real world. Give them a good examples and best illustration that will make them love it.
When I thought Biology in NYSC, i asked my students question in my first teaching that, " how many of you want to become doctor such as surgeon, neurologist, cardiologist, dermatologist, radiologist and so on. Almost the whole class raised up there hands and I told them that this biology is very important.
After the term, 98% of them passed biology with many distinction.
4 THOROUGH ASSESSMENT AND FEEDBACK: use various techniques of assessment for your students. Don't get tired of getting feedback from their parents and how he/she is doing at home. Inform their parents of their weakness and strength, improvement, ability what areas he needs to develop.
GIVE YOUR STUDENTS INDEPENDENCE AND CHALLENGES TASKS: To make sure teaching effective, give your students a well challenges task appropriate to students' understanding and age. This task will broaden their knowledge and explore them to their own understanding.
ALLOW YOUR STUDENTS TO TALK FOR 2 MINUTES ABOUT WHAT THEY HAVE LEARNED: in this area, if you have more than 30 students in a classroom, you can select three students to share there though, either based on their own understanding or according to teacher illustration on a topic, and continue randomly like that anytime you teaches.
This method will help them also in large gathering to be able to present a topic given with boldness and make them not to forget the topic.
ALLOW YOUR STUDENTS TO BE MORE ACTIVE THAN YOU: since the target of the teacher is for the students to know the subject matters. Your students need to be 60% active.
Take note- forbid noice making in the class but allow them to open discussion.
Make sure you carry everyone along, if you discovered a student is not involved in discussion, ask him/her questions with love, motivate him/her because some of them may be passing through trauma.
I had a student that when his parents fought, he came to school devastated and was mute
throughout the whole period but I called and asked him with love and joke. He told me everything and i motivated him, explained life lessons to him. In the next class when I asked about him, he was actively engaged.
TEACHERS ARE READERS: knowing the subject doesn't mean that you shouldn't read before the class. Read very well, digest the whole topic and be ready for questions from your students, always ask them questions on the topic, give them assignment and sometimes give them though assignment, don't always give them simple assignment because I discovered that some of them are already done it in the class.
IT IS VERY GOOD TO SHARE LOVELY AND INTERESTING STORY BEFORE YOU START TEACHING: immediately you enter the class and you have reminded them of previous knowledge. Introduce your new topic with 3 minutes captivating story that can drawn their minds toward the topic you are about to teach.
BE SENSITIVE: I was teaching one day in a classroom and one of my students was eating. I called his name, " Michael" what happens to you, he replied, "I have not eaten this morning". There was nothing I could do than to stop eating the food and continue later after the class and before another teacher take over.
If you are not sensitive, they might be doing other things inside the class. Therefore do not give room to inappropriate behavior during teaching.
Tell them you need all your five sense organs to listen to what you want to say.
DON'T BE TOO USE TO THEM SO THAT THEY WON'T DISRESPECT YOU: always act intelligently, don't allow them to know your weakness because they are going to use it against you. Be strict in punishment and always stands in your decisions.
